A four-year-old boy identified as Oluwadarasimi Omojola has been reportedly abducted by gunmen along Itaji/Ijelu Ekiti in Oye LGA of Ekiti state.
According to NAN, Boluwaji Omojola, father of the boy, escaped from the gunmen during the attack, but sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Gabriel Ogundeyi, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, traditional ruler of the community, confirmed the incident on Saturday.
Ogundeyi said the incident happened at about 6pm on Friday.

The traditional ruler said the boy was returning from Ayede-Ekiti with his father when they were attacked.
He said the father, a farmer, sustained injuries inflicted with a cutlass, adding that security operatives and local hunters have been deployed to ensure the safe rescue of the child.
However, Sunday Abutu, spokesman of the Ekiti police command, was yet to confirm the incident as the time of filing this report.

The development comes months after Abdulmumini Orishagbemi, the traditional ruler of Aiyede kingdom in Ekiti state, was shot by gunmen.
During the attack, which occurred in February, the traditional ruler was said to be on his way from Ijero Ekiti when he was accosted by the gunmen around Isan and Iludun, in Ilejemeje LGA of the state.
