Some gunmen in Kano have shot dead a police sergeant before abducting Michael Cremza, a German engineeer, working with Dantata and Sawoe Company in the state.
The tragic incident occurred along Sabon Titi Madobi Road, Kano, around 7:45am on Monday.
The armed men numbering five were said to have opened fire on a vehicle conveying Michael Cremza on his way to a construction site.
Musa Majia, spokesman of the police in the state, said the command has deployed a “powerful team of operatives and detectives” to cordon the axis.

“The police commissioner Rabiu Yusuf has since deployed a powerful team of operatives and detectives to cordon the axis with a view to arresting the culprits and rescue the victim. Manhunt of the abductors is ongoing,” he said.

The incident happened one week after a Kano-based Syrian was killed while his son was kidnapped.
