Gunmen have abducted Innocent Ogbu, a senior officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), along the Lokoja-Enugu road.
Ogbu was kidnapped on Saturday alongside 15 other passengers who were travelling to Enugu in a commercial bus.
In a statement on Monday, Rabiu Shuaibu, spokesperson of the NCoS Niger command, said Ogbu was heading to correctional training school in Enugu for a development course.
Ogbu is the deputy superintendent of corrections. He is also the unit commander of the armed squad wing at the Minna old medium security custodial centre, Niger state.

This is not the first time gunmen have kidnapped a prison official in Niger state.
