Mohammed Nuhu, the vice-principal of the Junior Secondary School, Yebu, located in Kwali area council of the federal capital territory (FCT), has been abducted following an attack by gunmen on the school.
Kwali, located in the suburbs of the nation’s capital, is about 40-minute drive from the Abuja metropolis.
The attack on the school was said to have occurred on Saturday night.
During the attack, the gunmen were said to have invaded the staff quarters of the school, where they kidnapped the vice-principal.

They also reportedly shot sporadically in the air during the attack.
Emmanuel Hwande, spokesman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), confirmed the abduction but said he does not have all the details.
The spokesman said the vice-principal was abducted at his residence in Yangoji.

“I have not gotten all the details,” Hwande told TheCable via telephone.
“They said he was kidnapped at his residence. The authorities are more concerned about preventing the bandits from going into town. They are not doing us justice.
“I think the banidts have opened a line of communication and the police are on it.”
Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the FCT police command, failed to respond to calls and a text message sent to her by TheCable.

The FCT has witnessed an increase in abductions in recent times, with the most recent being the attack on the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) staff quarters on Tuesday.
Six people were kidnapped following the attack on the UNIABUJA staff quarters.
