Three students of the Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCOHT) in Ilesa have been shot by gunmen suspected to be cultists.
It is understood that the incident occurred at Amuta Junction, close to the institution’s campus, on Sunday.
The three students — a male and two females — were said to have visited a barber’s shop in the area to charge their mobile phones when the gunmen opened fire on the facility.
The students were said to have been taken to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, for treatment from injuries sustained in the ensuing melee.

They were later reportedly referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife for further treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting — believed to have been orchestrated by rival cult groups — remain unclear as of the time of this report.
Yemisi Opalola, the state police spokesperson, told TheCable on Tuesday that the students are recovering in the hospital.

She, however, did go into the details of the incident.
“Yes, it is true that the students were shot. They are recuperating well,” she said before ending the telephone call abruptly.
