The crisis rocking Ebonyi state took a new dimension on Thursday, as unknown gunmen abducted Hon. Samuel Nwali, the majority leader of the state house of assembly.
Nwali was abducted in his residence at Abakaliki, the state capital.
The assembly had moved a motion for the impeachment of Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku as speaker on Monday, a development that took many by surprise and created disaffection among the lawmakers.
While 18 were in support of the impeachment, six opposed it.
