Gunmen have kidnapped Samuel Yaumande, a director of litigation in the Adamawa state ministry of justice.

Suleiman Nguroje, spokesman of Adamawa police command, confirmed the incident to journalists in Yola, the state capital, on Tuesday.

He said the gunmen also abducted a school principal and three other persons during the raid.

”The kidnappers quietly made their way into Yaumande’s residence and abducted him,” he said.

He said the police responded to a distress call on the abduction and deployed its officers in the scene but that the kidnappers had already escaped with the victims before the officers arrived.

Adamawa is one of the states battling the challenge of insecurity.
