Gunmen kidnap two farmers in Osun community

Gunmen have kidnapped two farmers at Ileogbo town in Aiyedire LGA of Osun state.

The farmers — Samuel Oladotun and Fashola Tobiloba — were abducted on Wednesday.

The victims and seven others were returning from their farms when their vehicle was ambushed along the Oke Osun area of Ileogbo.

Six of the passengers reportedly escaped while three were captured and taken away by the gunmen.

One of the three abductees later escaped when their captors were moving them into the bush.

The state police command confirmed the incident.

Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson of the command, said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.

She said there has been no report that the kidnappers have contacted their victims’ families or demanded ransom.
