Gunmen have reportedly killed 13 persons on their farms in the Anguwan Mai-Giro community of Shiroro LGA in Niger state.
The attack occurred on Wednesday.
In a statement, Yakubu Garba, deputy governor of Niger, described the attack as “satanic, insensible, atrocious and callous”.
Garba said it is “utterly appalling and deeply disturbing” to see people perpetrate such “barbaric and vicious act” against fellow humans.

The deputy governor expressed condolences to the grieving families, residents, and the Shiroro community.
He added that the state government remains resolute in its quest to restore peace and security across Niger.
He asked security agencies to remain steadfast and undeterred in their efforts, promising them full support in their battle against criminal elements.

In March, bandits abducted over 20 women during an attack on a market in Madaka community, Rafi LGA of Niger state.
