Gunmen kill 20 in Plateau village

At least 20 persons were killed in a night attack by gunmen at Ancha Village of Bassa local government area of Plateau state.

A resident of the area said that the attack took place in the late hours of Thursday.

The source, who preferred anonymity, also said that the attack left scores severely injured.

Terna Tyopev, spokesperson of the Plateau police command, confirmed the attack but could not give details.

“Yes, we are aware of the attack, but we don’t have the details now,” he said.

“We are on our way to the scene of the attack to get first-hand information on the situation.”
