Gunmen kill Bauchi lawmaker, abduct one-year-old daughter

Gunmen have killed Musa Baraza, a member of the Bauchi state house of assembly, and abducted his wives and one-year-old daughter.

TheCable learnt that the incident happened on Thursday night at his residence in Dass local government area of Bauchi.

Confirming the incident to TheCable on Friday via telephone, Ahmad Wakili, spokesman of the Bauchi police command, said they are currently on the trail of the suspects.

Wakili said no arrest has been made so far.

“Yes, the lawmaker was killed by unknown gunmen, they abducted his wives and his one-year-old daughter,” he said.

“Presently, the police are on the trail of the suspects but no arrest has been made so far.”

Until his death, Baraza represented Dass constituency in the state house of assembly.
