“If the family of the deceased does not come forward to report the death and there is no available witness to provide details of what transpired, there is nothing much we can do,” Edafe said.
Oyibo, who was the former chairman of the Obodougwa-Ogume community development committee, was reportedly attacked with machetes.
The charred remains of his body was found at the Obodougwa-Ogume junction on the Kwale-Obiaruku road on Wednesday.

Punch quotes a resident as saying Oyibo left his residence in Kwale around 11:30pm on Sunday after receiving a phone call.
“He abruptly woke up just before midnight, mentioned he was going out, and started his motorcycle while talking on his phone,” the resident said.
“Given that he had two wives, it was assumed he was heading to the second wife’s home. When he failed to return the next morning, his second wife was contacted and she confirmed he did not spend the night at her house.
“His phone was called, it rang for some time and after a while, it was no longer connecting. Later, information came that someone was killed in our junction and was burnt with his motorcycle.
