Gunmen have reportedly killed four persons while enforcing the sit-at-home order at Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA and Abatete in Idemili north LGA of Anambra state.
The gunmen were said to be enforcing the Monday sit-at-home when they began shooting at some residents in Abatete, before moving to Ukpo where they also opened fire on some vigilante operatives.
The yet-to-be identified assailants repeatedly set ablaze some vehicles of the vigilante operatives before fleeing the scene.
In some videos making the rounds on social media, Chimame Ezigbo, the president-general of Abatete community, was seen being taken to the hospital after suffering a gunshot injury during the attack.

Some members of the vigilante group were also being rushed to the hospital.
Confirming the incident on Monday, Tochukwu Ikenga, the state’s police spokesperson, said the command is aware of the incident, and had deployed some operatives to the scene.
He added that the command is yet to ascertain the number of casualties.
