Gunmen kill police inspector in Borno

Gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents, have killed a police inspector in an ambush at the Police Mobile Force Training College (PMFTC) in Limankara, Gwoza LGA of Borno state.

The attack took place on Thursday, according to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region.

Citing intelligence sources, the publication reported that the officer was part of a patrol team comprising personnel from the Mobile Police Force Training School in Gwoza and various police units.

The officer, identified as Andrawus Musa from the 6PMF unit in Maiduguri, sustained fatal injuries during the ambush.

According to the report, his AK-47 service rifle was taken by the attackers.

Musa was evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“The body has been deposited at the hospital for autopsy”, the publication added.
