Gunmen have reportedly killed Muhammad Maisaka, a retired air force officer, at his residence in Ragasi, Igabi LGA of Kaduna.

The gunmen were said to have attacked his residence, killing him and leaving the house without stealing anything.

Confirming the incident to NAN on Tuesday, Muhammad Jalige, the state police spokesman, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

He said his gateman also sustained injury in the attack.

He said when the information was received, Mudassiru Abdullah, the state commissioner of police, directed the divisional police officer and the area Commander to the scene.

“The corpse has been evacuated to the hospital and the gateman has also been rushed to the hospital for treatment”, he said.

Jalige said details of the incident will be made public soon, and he appealed to Kaduna residents to come forward with useful and timely information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.

There have been cases of gunmen attacking individuals in different states in recent times, including security operatives.

About a week ago, gunmen killed two police officers in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital while they were conducting a stop and search.
