Gunmen kill three persons in attack on Adamawa community

The Adamawa police command says some gunmen have killed three persons in an attack on Dabna, a community in Hong LGA of the state.

Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the command, announced the attack in a statement on Monday.

Nguroje said Afolabi Babatola, commissioner of police in Adamawa state, has issued an order for the arrest of the culprits and an investigation to be carried out into the incident.

He said the police commissioner also warned that attacks on innocent persons under whatever guise would not be tolerated.

“The commissioner of police strongly condemned the recent attack on the people of Dabna community by yet-to-be-identified men in Hong LGA, that resulted in the unfortunate murder of three persons and loss of properties,” NAN quoted Nguroje as saying.

“Consequently, the CP has ordered the immediate arrest and investigation into the matter with a view to ensuring peace and justice.

“The CP said the command holds the lives of citizens sacrosanct and such an unwarranted attitude would be strictly treated in accordance with extant laws.

“He equally reiterated the commitment of the command to the protection of lives and property, while stressing that it is vital to work with other sister security agents in protecting the fundamental rights of citizens.

“The CP, however, appealed for calm as the command is doing everything legally possible to detect and apprehend the suspects.”
