Gunshots as police disperse mob trying to loot COVID-19 palliatives in Abuja

The police on Saturday used teargas to disperse a mob attempting to break into the Arts and Culture Centre in the Garki district of the federal capital territory (FCT).

The arts centre is located at Area 10, Garki. The area is home to print businesses, barber shops and restaurants.

TheCable learnt the mob assumed that COVID-19 relief materials were stored at the arts centre.

At the height of the pandemic, the federal capital territory administration (FCTA) used the arts centre to store COVID-19 relief materials.

The relief materials such as bags of rice, beans and cartons of noodles were distributed to the various area councils from there.
