Mugo wa Wairimu, a Kenyan, has been charged with 12 offences including rape, impersonating a gynaecologist and operating a clinic without a licence.
Warimu ran into trouble after a staff in his clinic at Nairobi, capital of the country, released a footage which was secretly recorded.
The video showed an unidentified man allegedly assaulting an unconscious woman on a clinic bed.
Kenya’s Medical Practitioners Board denied Wairimu after a Kenya TV station aired the video.

On his part, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and has also denied raping his patients.
According to the BBC, Wairimu has been remanded in custody since his arrest, as it was argued that releasing him might endanger his life because of the public outrage over the affair.
The court ordered that he should remain in custody until Monday when his bail application would be heard.
