Erling Haaland scored the only goal as Manchester City defeated Southampton in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Norwegian striker scored in the first half of the uneventful encounter against EPL’s basement club.
Haaland netted in the fifth minute of the encounter, heading in Matheus Nunes’ cross to set the home side on the way to claiming all three points with his 11th goal of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s side returned to the top of the league with 23 points from nine matches, while Southampton remain without a win and are rooted to the bottom with just one point from the same number of matches.
