Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks as Manchester City dominated and beat Manchester United 6-3 in their English Premier League (EPL) clash at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola’s side scored four first half goals to halt United’s mini resurgence before the international break, with Haaland, their record summer signing, continuing his red-hot streak in English football.
Both Haaland and Foden scored twice in the first half before completing their hat-tricks in the second period to enter the history books as the first Man City duo to score hat-tricks in the same match.
Anthony Martial scored a late brace to add to Antony’s earlier consolation goal for Man United.

Foden dispatched Bernardo Silva’s cutback at the near post before Haaland scored two quick-fire goals in three minutes to put City three goals up. Foden made it 4-0 at the break.
Although Antony curled in from distance for 4-1, Haaland dispatched a Kevin de Bruyne pass to complete a third consecutive hat-trick at the Etihad, becoming the first player to achieve the feat.

Foden tucked a shot into the net from another Haaland pass to earn his hat-trick on 72 minutes before Anthony Martial, on as a substitute, scored twice to keep the scoreline respectable for the 20-time EPL champions.

The French striker headed in at the far post on 84 minutes before winning and converting a spotkick to earn his brace in added time as the enthralling encounter ended 6-3 to Man City.
Guardiola’s side remain second on the EPL log with 20 points from eight matches, one point behind Arsenal, the early pace setters, while Man United remain in sixth position with 12 points from seven matches.
