Skye Bank joins top gainers at NSE after 11-day losing streak

Skye Bank continued its resurgence for the second day running as the share stood as the best performer on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday morning.

The share price gained over nine percent to outperform 170 other companies quoted on the Nigerian bourse.

Skye Bank closed on Tuesday at 66 kobo per share, gaining for the first time in 14 days since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) decided to change its top management over capital adequacy issues.

Skye Bank share was trading at 72 kobo at about 11am on Tuesday, after trading of over N53 million.

At the close of trading on Tuesday, about N58 million worth of Skye Bank shares were traded at the stock exchange, with the share price closing at 72 kobo per share.

The top gainers for the day were Nigerian Breweries, UAC Nigeria, Cadbury, Skye Bank and Ikeja Hotel, effectively bringing Skye Bank’s 11-day losing streak to an end.

The market traded N242,000,510 worth of shares, bringing the market cap to N9,784,379,301,061.36 and the all share index to 28,488.56.
