Nigerian fans were overjoyed as the CHAN Eagles showed determination to defeat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 on Tuesday.
It was the third and final Group C game and Nigeria, having garnered four points from two games, were determined to secure a win.
Despite dominating possession in the opening 40 minutes, the CHAN Eagles fell behind to Nsi Eyama Salvador’s stunner.
But the Eagles launched a fightback in the second half, scoring three goals.

Goals from Anthony Okpotu, Dayo Ojo and Rabiu Ali were all the 2014 CHAN bronze medalists needed to scale through to the quarter-final.
Nigeria ended up as Group C winners with seven points, one more than Libya who pipped Rwanda 1-0.
