Critics of President Muhammadu Buhari have been all over social media commenting on the president’s comment that he assumed office in 2005.
Buhari said this at the presidential rally of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti on Tuesday.
“I am very pleased the vice-president is here and the chairman of the National Economic Commission [sic] has told you in detail what we are doing, especially that affects your state. I assure you what the minister of transportation said — Amaechi — because he’s in charge, he told you what we’re doing about the railways from Lagos to Kano through the states along the line; that we’re very conscious of the promises we made when came in 2005,” Buhari had said.
Buhari has been seen making some embarrassing mistakes in the ongoing campaign. He had referred to Great Ogboru, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta state, as “presidential candidate,” and subsequently “governortorial candidate,” an error his critics attributed to memory loss.

Below are Twitter reactions to Buhari’s comment:
A man could not even remember when he assumed office. He said in Ekiti today that he assumed office in 2005. Yet, they still want him to continue as President. Must they ruin Nigeria just to promote their personal interests?
Why can't they just allow this man to go home and rest?— Peter Ayodele Fayose (@GovAyoFayose) February 5, 2019

Buhari came to power in 2005?
I do not mean to ridicule Mr. President, but I am deeply troubled about what will become of this country if Buhari returns.
Buhari is vulnerable.

Buhari said 2005 instead of 2015. Baaam! We should give our votes to Atiku.

“We are very conscious of the promise we made when we are coming in in 2005”- @MBuhari
He DOES NOT know when he became President. He DOES NOT know he is the Presidential (or governotorial) candidate. He can’t read his note.

Buhari has done it again!Today as he addressed the crowd at his Ekiti rally he told them that he was elected into office "in 2005". The senility and diseased mind that plagues this creature is getting worse by the day. Is this what some say should lead Nigeria for another 4 yrs? pic.twitter.com/gMrRDqaP8p

Buhari is getting older and he should go home and take care of His health.

Buhari just told them in Ekiti that he came to power in 2005. Damn! That's 14 years ago. And I have been searching Google to confirm this "fact".

These Buharistans are very funny.
After I posted his statement yesterday, one actually argued that Buhari never said 2005 but 2015 cos "he was there."
Now video evidence don show.
They are now going from "anybody can make mistake" to people will vote him regardless.
Sigh.
