Health Assur, a healthcare management company, has launched its pharmacy benefit programme to give patients control over healthcare experience.
At an event held in Lagos to flag off a partnership with Advantage Health Africa partnership, Tinuola Akinbolagbe, CEO of Health Assur, said the company is at the forefront of changing patients’ healthcare experience for the better.
According to her, patients are demanding more control over their healthcare experience, including improved ease of access to care, choice of healthcare provider, increased value, and cost savings.
“Our focus remains on providing innovative solutions to the patient’s needs thus ensuring better patient outcomes. We feel that the patient is in the unique position to be in the driver’s seat of their healthcare experience,” she said.

“In line with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) mandate to secure universal health coverage for all Nigerians by harnessing private sector participation in healthcare, we have partnered with multi-specialist centres, diagnostic centres, pharmacies, HMOs and insurance companies to ensure comprehensive cover of all health needs.
“Health Assur Ltd. is dedicated to providing exemplary service in the administration of healthcare benefits through our culture of service excellence, innovation, accountability and responsiveness. This is our mission statement at Health Assur and we intend to impart this through various partnerships such as this.”
Akinbolagbe said the partnership offers qualified licensed community pharmacies under the aegis of the CPN Nexus — the largest aggregator of independent retail pharmacies in Nigeria — the opportunity to provide direct pharmaceutical care and minimise treatment failures.

“The pharmacist has a wide array of medication available and the knowledge required to initiate or modify medication specifically for each patient based on their medical history, adverse reactions and drug interactions to ensure that drug therapy regimens are safe and effective. They directly help the medical doctors to achieve positive clinical outcomes, all within an affordable cost,” she said.
Abimbola Adebakin, CEO of Advantage Health Africa, project managers for CPN Nexus, said: “Collaboration is the way to get ahead, the way to reach a wider audience, the way to strengthen propositions. Indeed, it gives you the louder voice you need to influence policies – and this is what we are about.”
