Ekperikpe Ekpo, the minister of state for petroleum resources (gas), says Bayo Ojulari, the new group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, will lead the company to greater heights.
In a statement on Thursday, Ekpo congratulated Ojulari, Ahmadu Musa Kida, NNPC’s new non-executive chairman, as well as directors of the board, on their appointments by President Bola Tinubu.
He said the remarkable achievement “is a testament to your exceptional leadership skills and unwavering dedication to the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry over the years”.
“Your invaluable contributions to the Oil and Gas industry cannot be overstated, evidenced by your consistent visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and outstanding teamwork. I am confident that you will continue to excel in your new role and lead NNPC Limited to even greater heights,” Ekpo said.

Ekpo said together with the new appointees, stakeholders in the sector will take the proactive steps to achieve Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, such as completing critical gas infrastructure projects like the “OB3 and AKK Gas Pipelines, critical gas supply Projects like ANOH Gas Project, Gas Supply to Brass Methanol Project and other critical National Gas Projects”.
Ekpo said the stakeholders will also collaborate to increasing the country’s daily average natural gas production to 8 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd) by 2027, and 10 bscfd by 2030, for the benefit of NNPC and the Nigerians.
The minister said he eagerly looks forward to “collaborating with you and supporting you in your endeavors”.

On his part, Heineken Lokpobiri, minister of state for petroleum resources (oil), assured Ojulari of his support.
In a separate statement on Thursday, Lokpobiri congratulated Ojulari, Kida, and other members of the newly constituted board.
“As we continue the transformation of our energy sector, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources assures you of unwavering collaboration and support. I also call on all industry stakeholders to rally behind the new leadership of NNPCL in driving efficiency and sustainability,” he said
He commended Tinubu for the strategic decision, which aligns with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), “further strengthening the sector’s legal framework and positioning it for greater effectiveness”.
