‘He’ll stimulate growth in Akwa Ibom’ — group expresses hope in Umo Eno’s administration

Connect Initiative, an international socio-political group, has congratulated Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom, on his assumption of office.

Eno was sworn in as the fifth governor of Akwa Ibom on May 29. 

In a statement on Tuesday, Frank Ekpenyong, president of the group, expressed confidence that Eno would stimulate growth and improve the overall economic well-being of Akwa Ibom.  

“Congratulations, on your inauguration and assumption in office as executive governor of Akwa Ibom state,” the statement reads.

“Given your antecedents, we have no doubt that you have the capacity, competence, character and compassion to further peace, prosperity and security.

“We also believe that your activities would stimulate growth and improve the overall economic well-being of our people.

“May the Almighty God whom you consistently acknowledge and trust, strengthen and grant you sound health and wisdom throughout your tenure at the helm of affairs.”

While taking the oath of office, Eno said that he would govern the state beyond party lines as he is the state governor and not of any party.

Eno also promised a golden era for the state, saying his government would usher in a new era of peace and security.
