Herbalist in court for alleged N10m fraud 

A Magistrates’ Court in Akure, Ondo State has granted bail to Taye Akintunde, a herbalist arrested for attempting to defraud an unsuspecting woman of N10 million by selling fake gold jewelleries to her.

Mrs. Olubukola Kuye, the magistrate, granted him N500,000 bail and adjourned the case till May 15, 2014.

Akintunde was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempting to obtain money under false pretext.

Okai Opaluwa, the prosecutor, said the accused committed the offence, which contravened Sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal Code, on April 4.

The prosecutor applied for an adjournment to enable him produce his five witnesses in court.

The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charge
