Nigerians on social media platforms have reacted to the decision of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, governor of Kano state, to relax the lockdown imposed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had on April 27, imposed a total lockdown on the state following “strange deaths” and rise in COVID-19 cases.
But on Saturday, Ganduje told journalists that there would be free movement in the state between 10am and 4pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
He said all the major markets in the state would remain closed, except Ya’nkaba and Ya’nlemo markets where vegetables and fruits are sold.

Below are some Twitter reactions:
Ganduje has relaxed that lockdown that Kano badly needs and some people in there are quiet.
Please don't trend another #NCDCFailedKano if Kano's COVID-19 figures rise in the weeks to come.

When Ganduje maliciously dethroned Sanusi, he thought he had absolute power. He felt accomplished! Few months after, he's battling what's most definitely the biggest challenge of his regime. When you have power, use it to build bridges, not walls. I hope this crisis humbles him pic.twitter.com/RuXr4rpork

If you reside in Kano State kindly stay safe and be responsible. Ganduje has shown high level of irresponsibility and carelessness.
Stay in your house and stay safe or go out and end up in the grave.

Someone said that we have only two governors in Northern Nigeria while the rest are local government chairmen and ganduje is just a councilor pic.twitter.com/sSMrgkK65w

How difficult could Ganduje understands that he can honourably resign if he lacks the requisite skill to govern a state in the midst of a disaster? Handling a disaster requires making the best decision at the best possible time. This serendipitous approach won't work.

They are asking for who will call Ganduje to order and calling on party leaders. Permit me to kikikiki
When it was time to call him to order you raised his hand and praised him to heavens. The reelection he won was kurukere. Now you see him finish you want order? Politika!

The Federal Government should better give Ganduje the N15bn he is seeking for. The man is putting the entire Country in Danger. Buhari on the other hand is probably unaware of the dire situation.

So more people are going to die, until Ganduje gets his N15bn @dawisu ? #KeaDrive

What exactly is wrong with Ganduje? What is his problem? Has he no advisers? The Emir of Rano just died due to suspected contact of covid 19? Where the Progressives Governors Forum? Who will stop this clown?

BREAKING: Emir of Rano dies hours after hospitalisation.
What could have pushed Ganduje to create new emirates in Kano and eventually dethroned Sanusi?
May be if Ganduje didn't make that move Alh. Tafida Abubakar would still have been alive.
Every action have consequence.

Ganduje should pick one struggle and hold on to one decision so as not to confuse the thunder.

Governor Ganduje of Kano State relaxed the lockdown order imposed by President Buhari, but later makes a U-turn. Doesn't this explain how confused the leadership is?
