The Kaduna Patriotic Alliance has endorsed Tajudeen Abbas for the speakership position of the 10th national assembly
The group said by virtue of Abbas’ achievements, he is one of the best members of the house of representatives in Nigeria’s history.
On May 8, the All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated Abbas and Benjamin Kalu as the preferred choice for speaker and deputy, respectively.
The party also recommended Godswill Akpabio and Jibrin Barau as senate president and deputy senate president.

Many aspirants for the leadership positions and some party members had rejected the nominations.
Speaking on Monday at a press conference in Kaduna, Bashir Abubakar, convener of Kaduna Patriotic Alliance, said Abbas has the right temperament and educational background for the position.
Abubakar also called for support for the members-elect nominated by the APC.

“This achievement has placed him (Abbass) among the best. He is the lawmaker who has sponsored the highest number of bills in the lower chamber in the history of Nigeria,” he said.
“More so he has the right temperament and disposition as well as the educational qualification and experience to lead the lower legislative chamber.
“Their (Kalu, Akpabio, Barau) performances in their previous offices and contributions to democracy in the country is equally overwhelming. It is very clear that they still have a lot to offer.”
