Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will lead former President Festus Mogae of Botswana, and Speciosa Wandira-Kazibwe former vice-president of Uganda, to the presidential villa when they pay a two-day official visit to Nigeria.
According to Charles-Martin Jjuuko, communications and global outreach officer of UNAIDS Nigeria, the three eminent African leaders and UNAIDS champions for an AIDS-free generation would meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to encourage domestic funding of AIDS response.
They are expected to support Buhari’s participation in UN high level meeting on ending AIDS in New York I June.
“The UNAIDS Champions will be meeting President Buhari to discuss the HIV/AIDS response in Nigeria ahead of the UN High Level Meeting scheduled to hold from 8 to 10 of June 2016,” jjuuko said in a statement.

“The Champions will also meet members of the national assembly, the ministry of health, National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), and the United Nations Country Team in Nigeria.”
The statement added that the ex-African leaders and UNAIDS Champions would be in Abuja between Wednesday, May 25, and Friday, 27 May for the event.
