The Super Eagles B were held to a lacklustre goalless draw in the first leg of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Ghana.
The home-based Eagles produced scant scoring opportunities against the Black Galaxies in a drab encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Nigerian team, which comprises footballers from the country’s football league, had extensive training camps ahead of the clash.
However, the Eagles were sorely lacking in cohesion against Ghana. The Black Galaxies dominated the early period of the game and fashioned out a string of opportunities, but they found the Nigerian defence held on.

The Eagles struggled particularly in the final third, with the team’s most crucial chance coming from Sikiru Alimi’s free-kick, which also went over the bar just before halftime.
Nigeria will host Ghana for the second leg of the encounter at the Godswill Akpabio stadium on December 28.
The winner of the encounter will qualify for the 2025 CHAN, which Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda will host in February.
