Hoodlums have vandalised the Zamfara state anti-thuggery agency’s secretariat.
According to NAN, Bello Bakyasuwa, commandant of the agency, said the secretariat was attacked after the announcement of governorship election results on March 21.
He spoke about the incident in a press conference in Gusau, capital of Zamfara, on Saturday.
Last week, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Dauda Lawal, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the governorship poll in the state.

Lawal polled 377,726 votes to defeat the incumbent governor, Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 311,976 votes.
The hoodlums were said to have taken advantage of the jubilation that trailed the announcement of the results to destroy and loot properties.
Bakyasuwa said two operation vehicles of the agency, including a Hilux and Peugeot 406 saloon belonging to the agency, were stolen by the hoodlums.

TheCable had reported that the state police command arrested 40 suspected hoodlums who participated in post-election violence.
The Zamfara anti-thuggery agency was established by Matawalle in 2022 to fight acts of political thuggery, drug abuse and other related criminal offences in the state.
