The house of representatives has summoned James Entwistle, outgoing US ambassador to Nigeria, over the allegation of sexual misconduct leveled against three members of the lower chamber of the national assembly.
Entwistle had written a letter to Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house, alleging that Samuel Ikon (PDP Akwa Ibom), Mohammed Gololo (APC Bauchi) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue) allegedly sought the services of sex workers while they were attending a programme in the US.
The lawmakers denied the allegations but Dogara referred the matter to a joint committee on ethics and privileges and foreign affairs for investigation.
The committee has asked the ambassador to appear before it on Thursday.
