HR Day: CIPM harps on significant contribution of profession to society

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has harped on the significant contribution of human resource managers across the globe.

On Friday, CIPM members embarked on a two-kilometre walk to commemorate the 2022 International Human Resources Day at Alausa Business District, Ikeja, Lagos.

Olusegun Mojeed, president & chairman of the governing council of CIPM, who led the walk, said the day is an opportunity to recognise HR professionals and their significant contributions to society.

Mojeed said the walk would awaken members’ physical and mental fitness and sensitise workers and the government about the organisation’s activities.

“We cannot deny that HR is the heart of the business. And there is no better way to celebrate ourselves and our beloved profession,” Mojeed said.

The CIPM president reiterated that the place of human resource management cannot be relegated in the corporate world.

He added that the progress or otherwise of any organisation is a function of how well human capital managers could manage the people for the growth and development.
