Hughes praises ‘fantastic’ Victor Moses

Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes, has praised the performance of Victor Moses in his side’s 2-0 win over Everton at the Britannia Stadium.

Moses scored the home side’s first goal of the Barclays Premier League match while Mame Biram Diouf bagged their second to seal the three points for their third win in a row.

Hughes was all smiles afterwards.

“We were very good. But it was typical performance of not allowing anything to sway us from what we want to achieve this season,” he told BBC Sport.

“It’s a fantastic header from Victor Moses and then we are in a position to soak up pressure and hit on the break. It was arguably Moses’s best performance for Stoke City.

“It’s a fantastic period at the moment, 42 points and we are eighth. We’re very happy but we still have work to do. People were talking about Europe at the press conference but we have never talked about Europe this year, it was all about achieving points total that was greater than last year. I’m not sure Europe is achievable but we will have a go.”

Stoke moved up into eighth place on the log after the win. Their next league match is against West Brom on March 14 at the Hawthorns.
