Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, says the All Progressives Congress (APC), his party, will govern the state for a “long time”.
In a statement on Tuesday, Tersoo Kula, chief press secretary (CPS) to Alia, said the governor spoke when he met the leadership of the APC at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi, the state capital.
Alia, represented by Paul Biam, his chief of staff, said as the leader of the party in Benue, he would ensure that the residents of the state enjoy the benefits of their hard work.
The governor said there should be more synergy between the government and the party leadership in the state.

He added that a robust relationship would help his administration deliver good governance to the people.
Alia said he is determined not to disappoint Benue residents because of the massive goodwill given to him during the governorship election.
On his part, Austin Agada, chairman of the APC in Benue, said the party would support the governor in his bid to reposition the state.
