Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has sent a list of 14 commissioner nominees to the state house of assembly for screening.
Hyacinth Dajoh, speaker of the house, announced the development while reading the letter from the governor during the plenary on Thursday.
Dajoh, who did not reveal the names of the nominees, said they would be known on the day of screening.
He said the nominees were indigenes of the state who are technocrats and would not fail if they scaled through the screening process.

Speaking to journalists after the plenary, Elias Audu, chairman of the house committee on information, said the governor sent in 14 names as against the usual 16.
He said the governor would have reasons for his nomination which he believed was hinged on the track records of people who would help him succeed in his administration.
