Dutch athlete, Dafne Schippers, powered to a National Record (NR) of 10.92s at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday ahead of Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor who clocked 10.98s to place second.
USA’s Jeneba Tarmoh, Dina Asher-Smith of Britain and Ivoirian Murielle Ahoure took off to a brilliant start with Schippers and Okagbare left in their wake.
But the Dutch record holder didn’t give up though as she and the Nigerian levelled up with the rest of the field, before overtaking them just before the finishing line.
Ahoure followed in 3rd place with a time of 11.01s while Asher-Smith settled for 4th with 11.06s.
