IABC serves 3-course intellectual feast for business leaders

International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Nigeria is all set to host top ranking executives in business communication from South Africa and Nigeria to lead the discourse at its 6th business leaders’ forum.

The forum, which is being backed by Mobil Producing Nigeria and Lafarge Africa, is to hold on June 30,2016 at the Black Diamond Hotel near Mobil House in Victoria Island.

Daniel Munslow, a member of the international executive board of IABC, the global body of communication professionals, will lead with a presentation on the “Communication Trends of 2016”.

Abiodun Olaniyi, director of communication at IABC Nigeria, says Munslow is also the Africa regional director of IABC and a director of VMA Group, a firm that handles capacity building and recruitment in the marketing communication field.

Kudo Eresia-Eke, general manager external relations of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) will speak on “Social License and the Business Case for CSR”.

Operating in the extractive industry, NLNG has had close to 20 years of managing community relations and entrenching corporate social responsibility as a strategic imperative of business.

Eresia-Eke would discuss what has worked or not worked and why NLNG considers CSR vital.

Viola Graham-Douglas, communications director of Lafarge Holcim, would share perspectives on “Internal Communication and Change Management”.

Chido Nwakanma, IABC Nigeria president, said the 6th business leaders’ forum “continues and extends a tradition of providing food for the mind and leading thought on critical issues germane to communication and business leadership in Nigeria”.

“We are excited about this event as it would serve all those interested in the most significant trends in communication globally as well as best practice in our environment.

“The visit of the Africa Director, who also sits on the global board, is an endorsement of the efforts of the executive team to raise awareness about IABC and how it boosts the discipline of business communication in Nigeria.”

Nwakanma said attendance is free to business leaders, communication scholars and all those interested in the nexus between the growing discipline of communication and business performance.
