Ibrahimovic scores twice to win EFL Cup for Man United

Manchester United on Sunday defeated Southampton 3-2 to win the 2016-17 English Football League (EFL) Cup at Wembley Stadium.

Ibrahimovic was the hero for Manchester United as his late goal secured the first major silverware of the season.

The Swede curled a free-kick into the bottom-left corner of the goal to give United the lead in the 20th minute.

Jesse Lingard got his third goal in as many games at Wembley in the 38th minute when Marcos Rojo combined neatly with Juan Mata and Anthony Martial before feeding him for United’s second goal.

Within the space of five minutes, Manolo Gabbiadini scored twice to put his team back on level terms.

Ibrahimovic scored again in the 87th minute to give United the much-needed winner for the trophy.

José Mourinho has now won the EFL Cup with two different English Premier League side.
