Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan’s forward, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Italian giants disclosed the Swedish star player’s status in a statement on Thursday.
“Zlatan Ibrahimović has tested positive for Covid-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against Bodø/Glimt,” AC Milan wrote.
“The Club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been promptly placed in quarantine at home.”

The Swedish hitman has made a strong start to the new season with the Rossoneri. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Bologna on Monday.
Ibrahimovic also took to his Twitter page to confirm his COVID-19 status.
“I tested negative to Covid yesterday and positive today. No symptoms what so ever. Covid had the courage to challenge me. Bad idea,” he wrote.

The 38-year-old is the second Milan player to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus after Leo Duarte, the Rossoneri defender on Tuesday.
