The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has asked Aisha Achimugu, the Abuja-based Nigerian socialite, to remember to file her annual tax returns.

The FCT-IRS recently gave the reminder, in a statement on X, while responding to a post on the lavish seven-day party, hosted by Achimugu in Grenada, a Caribbean Island country.

The festivities commenced on January 16 with the arrival of guests, ending on January 23 with a luxurious dinner.

Reacting to the celebration, the FCT-IRS extended its regards to the socialite on her birthday celebration.

“The FCT-Internal Revenue Service extends our warmest birthday wishes to you! May this special day be filled with joy and blessings. Remember to fulfill your tax obligations by filing your annual tax returns,” FCT-IRS wrote.

Achimugu’s 50th birthday celebration had drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.

In a voice recording received by TheCable, the socialite said she would prioritise her happiness.

“I want to congratulate myself for being the most popular in the news, apart from the Gaza-Israeli fight,” she said.

“For those who have shown concern, I’m well and in high spirits. I’m doing what makes me happy.

“I want to show you all that this girl is moving ahead. For those who are genuinely not concerned, I love you all. I will continue to do me and I’m unapologetic about it. They’re going to be hearing more of me.

“I’ve not been a media person but, since they’ve made it a duty for me to do that, you would see more of me.”

The socialite added that she will give people more to talk about.

Meanwhile, reports had claimed that Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, travelled to Grenada to attend the lavish parties organised by Achimugu.

In a tweet on his official X account, Sanwo-Olu said he travelled to the country to facilitate the economic interests of his state.
