Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, scored twice to help Manchester United to a 3-0 win over Derby County in their FA Cup fifth round tie.

The 30-year-old goal poacher put up a man of the match performance to score the second and third goals of his Manchester United career, despite starting just twice in six games — since his arrival from Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.

Manchester United started the goal feast with Luke Shaw’s volley on 33 minutes before Ighalo, a former Watford FC player, scored a typical strikers’ goals.

The first of his brace came four minutes before the end of the first half. The Lagos-born striker held of two defenders to control Shaw’s pass before slotting into the bottom corner.

Ighalo’s second was scored on seventy minutes when he blasted the ball into the roof of the net after his initial shot was blocked by a defender.

The brace is Ighalo’s first in England since a similar feat for Watford against Liverpool in 2015. The double also helped Untied extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

Ighalo, the AFCON 2019 top scorer, who scored his two goals from his five shot, could have bagged a hattrick but he blazed high and wide from the penalty area in the dying minutes of the encounter.
