Ighalo: I know nothing about £12m Atletico Madrid ‘deal’

Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, says he is unaware of reports that Atletico Madrid are planning to sign him for £12million.

Speaking with TheCable from his base in England, the Super Eagles forward said: “It’s the same way you are hearing it that Atletico Madrid and Roma are ready to sign me with the sum of £12m that I am hearing it too.

“I have not talked to my agent for two days now. He is doing his job and I am doing mine on the field of play. So, whatever has come up, I will know later. But for now, I don’t really know what’s going on.

“I have a five-year contract with Watford. I am happy here. Only God knows my future. I can’t say anything about that. Only God knows where I will be playing in the future. Sometimes, you will say something but something different will happen. So, I don’t want to say anything for now. All I want to do is to keep on going and seeing what God has for me.”

Concerning questions that he may be invited to the Dream Team squad going to the Rio 2016 Olympics Games, Ighalo said: “Every player would love to play at the Olympics. But I am not thinking of that now. I just want to concentrate on my club football. And we will see what will happen. So, if the opportunity arises, I will take it.”
