Many Nigerian players were in action for their respective clubs in the past week.
The top performers made TheCable’s team of the week.
They are:
Austin Ejide (Hapoel Hadera)

Hapoel Hadera were strong against Ironi Kiryat Shmona but they won’t have kept a clean sheet without the sterling performance of Ejide, who made a host of excellent saves, especially in the second period.
Efe Ambrose (Hibernian)
If Hibernian are to challenge for the league title this season, they will need Ambrose in top form. The centre-back was superb for his team in the game against Hamilton Academicals.

Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes)
It has been a very difficult season for Leganes thus far, but they recorded a 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend. It was an excellent all round performance from Kenneth Omeruo, who made his La Liga debut in the game.
Ola Aina (Torino)
Ola Aina’s great performances have coincided with Torino’s improvement and the Nigerian was once again impressive at the weekend.

Taiye Taiwo (RoPS)
Former AC Milan and Olympique Marseille defender Taiye Taiwo provided an assist in the Finnish Veikkausliiga game between RoPS and TPS, which ended 2-1 in favour of RoPS. He was a delight to watch.
Ogenyi Onazi (Trabzonspor)
The Super Eagles star was monstrous in the middle of the park as Trabzonspor won at Akhisarspor.

John Ogu (Hapoel Beer Sheva)
Ogu was at the heart of Haporl Beer Sheva’s positive moves in the 4-1 win against Maccabi Petah Tikva. He was inspirational for Beer Sheva.

Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke City)
It has not exactly been the start to the season that Stoke City would have wanted. Etebo played a key role in the morale-boosting 1-0 win at Norwich City.

Moses Ogbu (Sirius)
Sirius needed a good result against Elfsborg and Ogbu was in wonderful form for the hosts, scoring two goals in the 4-2 win. Everything good about Sirius’ performance came from the forward.

Odion Ighalo (Changchun Yatai)
TheCable’s top performer of the week is Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo. He scored a brace for Changchun Yatai who had a share of the spoils in a six-goal thriller against Tianjin Teda.
The hosts simply struggled to deal with Ighalo’s movement during the clash.
Emem Eduok (Kasimpasa)
Emem Eduok has been impressive for Kasimpasa this term. His movement and tenacity proved too much for Goztepe to handle. His brace was well taken.
