Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), has ordered the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo, youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, over the quit notice he issued to herdsmen.
BBC Hausa quoted Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, as confirming the arrest order during its programme on Friday.
Shehu reportedly said the IGP informed him of his directive to Ngozi Onadeko, the Oyo commissioner of police, to arrest Igboho and transfer him to Abuja.
Frank Mba, police spokesman, did not immediately respond to TheCable’s inquiry on the order of the IGP.

Igboho had asked herdsmen in Igangan in Ibarapa north local government area of Oyo to leave within seven days following reports of the killing of some Oyo citizens.
He had blamed herders and Fulanis, including Saliu Kadri, the Seriki Fulani, of being behind the rising insecurity in the area.
The quit notice generated tension in parts of the state, prompting Seyi Makinde, the governor, to ask the IGP to arrest those fomenting trouble under the guise of protecting the interest of Yoruba people.

“For people stoking ethnic tension, they are criminals and once you get them, they should be arrested and treated like common criminals,” the governor had told the police commissioner.

I think before igboho can be arrested by the police let them do their job ,very well they should fish out the culprit, that is kidnapping and killing in the forest before anything ,can do you ve any yoruba bale in the north with armed guards its time. For the yoruba leaders to stand behind igboho all yorubas we behind you ,say no now to the arrest. Of igboho people ve been killed and kidnapped. Everyday how many Of them ve the igp investigate and arrest dont use the fédéral power to. Intimidate anyone Nigeria belong to all Of US no. Tribe is more spécial than the other tribe if you are treat to the citizens Of yoruba land and they ask you to leave their land they ve the right to do so if you are living against the laws Of the land
Chief Sunday Adeyemo as Oyo state indigene to liberate his people and not to usurp the failed government’s role to safe its people and their property. Arrest of Sunday Igboho will only spark up unrest as even Yoruba elites will rise in his defence. Verbal and media altercation will ensue between citizens and the federal government while many SANS will offer free legal services to Igboho. It’s high time we join hands together to evict killer herdsmen from Yoruba land. We must all support Chief Sunday Igboho on this since it’s obvious the government lack the will to act on this.
Sunday igboho should not be arrested. First his aligations of Fulani herdsman are kidnapping our people should first be investigated, where he is found guilty then d law can take its course. If truly Sunday igboho is arrested, then there is trouble, let’s wait and see, Sunday is going to be a bone in their neck.
No one is bigger than govt, he just gave a directive and not that he did anything wrong. this order to arrest him is when govt no get a solution to a problem, rather face the security situation, also no one should form a small govt, if all Yoruba elders behind him, they should be the ones communicating and doing the talking and his is behind carrying out orders, these elders are a politician and they will see him to govt for money/position. see what gov is saying now, we have Tinubu General of Yoruba, we have Gani Adams Aare of Yoruba and another first-class oba, let them convey the message that they give herdsman 7 days and let see who IG will arrest
Sunday Igboho join IPOB to finish what you started, I suggest.
