Ibrahim Idris, acting inspector general of police (IGP), is seeking the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) “logistical support” on the delivery of its policing mandate.
This was disclosed by the IGP, who paid a courtesy visit to the CBN head office in Abuja.
During the visit, the IGP said he was at the CBN to request the bank to collaborate with the force “in providing logistical support to the Police to enable it perform its mandate of securing lives and property”.

While recalling that the CBN and the deposit money banks had always collaborated with the police on the other, Emefiele emphasized the need to revamp the activities of the committee in order to come up with far-reaching recommendations on possible areas of partnership between the banks and the police.
According to a statement by the apex bank, the duo of Suleiman Barau and Adebayo Adelabu, deputy governors in charge of operations and corporate services, were present during the visit.
Also present were Ibitayo Amu, the director, security services department; Lazarus Agbor, director, procurement and support services department (PSSD); Yila Yusuf, acting director, information technology department; and Isaac Okorafor, the acting director, corporate communications department.
