Ayebatari Easterday, a former councillor in southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa, has pleaded with the military to protect innocent residents in the state while searching for the killers of 17 soldiers.
Easterday’s plea comes after 17 soldiers on a peace mission were killed in Bomadi LGA of Delta state.
NAN reports that Easterday spoke on Tuesday in Yenagoa, the state capital.
He was reacting to the ongoing military crackdown on the suspected hideouts of the alleged killers of the soldiers believed to have fled to Bayelsa.
