Okezie Ikpeazu, governor of Abia state, has extended the three-day curfew imposed on the commercial city of Aba to Friday.
On Tuesday, the governor declared a three-day curfew following the clash between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Nigerian army.
The curfew, which starts from 6pm to 6am, was supposed to end on Thursday.
But in a statement on Wednesday, Ikpeazu called on residents and visitors in the state to fully cooperate with the security agencies to ensure that law and order are maintained.
He urged the security agencies to ensure that “inhumane and barbaric treatment of people are discontinued immediately.”
