Okezie Ikpeazu, governor of Abia state, has lifted the 6pm to 6am curfew imposed on the commercial city of Aba.
Enyinnaya Appolos, the governor’s chief press secretary, who disclosed this, said it is as a result of the improved security situation in the city.
On September 12, Ikpeazu declared a curfew, following clashes between some members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and soldiers.
Ikpeazu commended Aba residents for compliance while the curfew lasted, and urged them to remain law abiding in order to ensure lasting peace in the city.

He also thanked the security agencies for their efforts, urging them to ensure the protection of lives and property.
